Kintsugi — Mending with Light

by Bindu Lanka, on initiative

Guided from the known,

Into an alien world,

Scrambling in the darkness yet never alone.

In this foreign world the little girl found her voice-

The untold stories, loneliness and fears,

All were held with love,

the dreams and the tears.

Rays of light shone, on shattered glass and hidden gems

Kintsugi on broken glass, jewels so rare,

These treasures now part of me

They will forever remain.

Straddling two worlds but making peace

It’s time to say goodbye and return to my own

Tears don’t stop as I prepare to depart

For here the child finally found a home.

I am a lone traveler from the world of my own,

The alien has become familiar, but never my own.

Why call it own and alien, when there is only one

Am I a lone traveler or all

paths the same?
